In 1996, a handful of people met in the heart of San Francisco Bay Area Silicon Valley to cultivate one simple idea – how Muslims and people of goodwill in North America can make a difference to nurture hope for individuals and communities in West Africa. This conviction gave birth to the Ihsan Foundation of West Africa. Over the last 20 years, Ihsan directed its efforts toward addressing the devastating effects of Sierra Leone’s vicious rebel war.
While most of the work has been focused on Sierra Leone due to the devastation of a decade long war, Ihsan has since broadened its services to other neighboring countries – Guinea, Cameroon, Niger, Ghana, and Nigeria, Mali, Somalia, and The Central African Republic.
Ihsan foundation is a USA based charity with an objective to make a difference in the lives of the people in the West African region through educational, humanitarian, and healthcare projects. We believe in the essential dignity of all human beings, regardless of national origin, ethnicity, gender, or religion.
Ihsan Foundation is a U.S. Tax-exempt non-profit charity incorporated in 1997 (Federal Tax ID# 77-0441551)
Ihsan hosts speakers to explore various aspects of Muslim life, culture, and contributions. These sessions cover a wide range of topics, including spirituality, history, social issues, arts, and current events, providing a platform for meaningful dialogue and community engagement.
